Summary
Patrick isn’t sure whether Art is more pissed that his injury happened in the final, or that it’s Patrick who volunteers to sit with him in the ambulance on the way to the hospital.
“You can afford this, right?” Patrick says, half electric with adrenaline despite being fine, physically. “Ambulance is fine?”
“I’m, fucking,” Art grits through his teeth, “ranked 9th in the fucking world, Patrick.”

“Why the fuck is Patrick calling you?”
He pulls back the shower curtain, and she glances down at his chest on instinct. “Hi,” he says, sweetly.
She reaches out and touches his injured shoulder briefly; it always comes out looking red after hot water. He smiles at her and brings her hand to his mouth, kissing her knuckles. And then he blinks a few times, like he’s remembering what she said. “I ran into him in Australia.”
