Summary
The Galactic Republic teeters with the threat of civil war. The Jedi Order has been clouded by the shadow of an emerging Sith Lord. Ainyam Durn, the young future Grand Duchess of the Republic, Keeper of the Law, has a foot in both worlds. Born Force-sensitive, Ainyam has secretly been raised as both a Jedi and the heir to the Duchy, causing strife, conflict, strained relationships, and unrealistic expectations from all sides. Ainyam wants nothing more than to prove to herself and the galaxy that she can be both Lady Durn, Grand Duchess, and Ainyam, Jedi Knight. Yet, as external conflicts arise and past secrets exposed, Ainyam discovers her deeper purpose lies not in both paths, but one uniquely her own, carved by the Force as darkness covers the galaxy.

Part 2
After spending her life in secrecy, Ainyam is thrust into the public center of a galactic war between the Separatists and the Republic. Her Jedi identity is torn as the Republic trusts the Order less and less as the war goes on, and her own position as Duchess wanes as power is shifted in the Senate. The war is not all bad, however, as Ainyam makes new friends and connections, and gets closer than she ever has to answers in the investigation of her mother's death. However, as Ainyam finds more help and support than ever before, her new friendships, alliances, and relationships are put at risk with every impossible decision she is forced to make.
