Trent, a taller handsome guy down on his luck in romance, spends time with mei and some friends at a party (emma and lee) and he falls hard. Trent does everything he can to see her again, she’s a funny chinese girl - sporty (track and tai chi). Trents friends throw him a big birthday party, he invites The Crew but he’s really just hoping Mei comes, she comes to set up but only Emma can make it to the actual party. They all make plans to meet to cook but everyone bails and then again a second time. The second time only Emma and Trent show. He’s deflated but they have a great time and agree to do it again the next day, and the day after, and the day after - for 2 weeks. Mei shows up once or twice. (Subplot: Trent winds up in the hospital) Emma confides in Trent that she used to have strong feelings for Mei, and as she talks realizes that the feelings might still exist. Trent talks to Lee (who has history with Emma), he assures Trent that he has nothing to worry about - Mei rejected Emma a year prior anyways. Later that day Emma tells Trent that she and Mei are dating. Does he hold on or let go? He lets go after much deliberation and is back at square one, wistful and unsure if love is in his cards.
