Summary
“How long?” John asked tersely, voice slightly distorted by the phone.
“Um… I’m not actually sure,” George said. “But it’s not a problem if I leave for a while? I mean, you don’t mind at all?” He could tell he was sounding a little desperate, but he could feel the barrel of the gun against his temple, could almost feel the bullet exploding into his skull. He has to realize something is wrong, George thought desperately. He has to. I can’t fucking stay here.
There was a time when he and John were inseparable, when John knew exactly what George was thinking and feeling, but that felt like a long time ago.
“Of course it’s fine,” John said, sounding bored and annoyed. “Take all the time you need.”
The line went dead, and George thought he might vomit.
****

Summary
It's been almost a year since George was kidnapped, and all four Beatles are still searching for their own way of coping. When George’s therapist decides that the best way to heal a communal trauma is as a community, Paul reluctantly agrees to convince the other Beatles to come to group therapy, even if they all know it can't really help. But, as they struggle to disentangle the complexities of their relationship, none of them know about the strange certainties George can't get out of his head. Like the certainty that he has only a few weeks to live, or the dangerous plan that’s beginning to crystallize in front of him. All along they thought they were caught in a tangle, but it turns out they’re trapped in a spiderweb. But who is the spider at the center of it?
A sequel to Stolen Time, but you don't have to read the first one to understand and hopefully enjoy it.
