Summary
"I didn’t cut things short because you behaved badly," Tommy reveals. "I did it because I didn’t want to pressure you."
And that sounds… reasonable. It would have been nice for Tommy to have explained it in that fashion before he ditched Buck on the sidewalk, but then again Buck can understand if Tommy might not have been feeling very charitable at the time.
So Buck brushes it off and completes his apology, which Tommy accepts with nothing more than a short 'Noted', and it feels nice to have it acknowledged even if it isn’t exactly an 'I forgive you'.
OR: In an effort to get off the hamster wheel, Buck tries to make things work with Tommy. It’s strange how something so new can feel so much the same.

Summary
"Hello, my Lord," an unfamiliar voice says. "Are you in need of assistance of some kind?"
"No, thank you," Buck primly replies in an attempt to dismiss whoever has stumbled upon his great escape, his eyes locked on the wisteria as he fumbles for a new foothold. "You can, uh, go back inside and wait with all the other gawkers."
"I will," the stranger agrees, but he sounds more confused than he does eager to join the rest of the wedding guests for the upcoming festivities. "Before I go, may I ask – what are you doing?"
Buck purses his lips in frustration as the slick sole of his left shoe declines to find proper purchase on the bark of the next branch. "Nothing."
OR: This is not quite how Buck imagined his wedding day would go.

“Who?” Buck says before it hits him. “Wait, do you mean Tommy?”

Summary
“I just— I thought I knew him,” Buck says, unable to keep the disappointment from bleeding into his voice, “and I didn't think he would be capable of being this dishonest or— or cruel.”
Thankfully, Maddie and Josh finally seem to have realized the enormity of Buck’s predicament; they both quiet down, and Josh in particular appears just about ready to give some kind of rousing consolatory speech – which, all things considered, Buck might not even mind right now – while Maddie looks—
“Do you love him?” Josh asks, but Buck’s attention is focused solely on his sister, because he knows that expression – it’s part guilt, part concern; it’s the face she wears whenever she’s keeping a secret.
Or: In which Buck finds out the truth about Tommy's time at the 118.
