Summary
Eddie Munson is no stranger to fucking up. He's long accepted that. It's just a thing that happens.
Sometimes, you'll miscalculate a stage dive and have to cancel the rest of the tour.
Sometimes, you'll get so caught up in your stupid rockstar stuff, you'll forget about the youth center you founded to give other kids a better childhood.
Sometimes, you'll meet an adorable guy named Dustin at said youth center, and rant about how useless the monarchy is, only to find out that Dustin isn't Dustin at all, but Crown Prince Steven Harrington, aka the future king, aka owner of the saddest pair of puppy dog eyes that Eddie has ever failed to get out of his goddamn head.

"This is delicious, Mr. Munson," Steve is saying. He's sitting next to Eddie, back ramrod straight, elbows at a perfect angle, dissecting the meatloaf with careful precision.
Like some trained dog.
"My mom's recipe," Wayne hums, but then he sets down his own cutlery, expression serious. "Now … what are your intentions with my nephew?"
Eddie flushes about twenty shades of crimson. Incidentally, so does Steve.
"I …" he sputters, all traces of composure suddenly gone. "Well, I like Eddie a lot."
"I figured …" Behind Wayne's beard, his mouth twitches. "Seeing how you're wearing his clothes and all."

“I mean, not to be a smartass,” Chrissy’s voice pulls him from his thoughts. She's seated on the opposite side of his kitchen table, laptop in front of her. “But you do realize you could've just waited until you got to your hotel room?”
Eddie stops pulling at his own hair to give her a tired look.
“I missed him, okay? Between my Europe tour and his stupid state visit to Asia, it was the first time in months that we saw each other. It was literally just one kiss.”
Chrissy gives him a look.
“Eddie, I love you,” she says flatly. “But it looks like you're trying to suck out his tonsils with your tongue.”

Steve drops a chaste kiss to his lips, just as the car stops. “I never said that. I know it's not your favorite type of event, though. Or your favorite type of people. I don't ever want to force you into-”
“Hey,” Eddie interrupts him. “You're not forcing me. I chose this. I chose you. And for the record, I know I look fantastic in this thing.”
Steve hums, a low sound that settles heavy in Eddie’s abdomen. The driver’s door shuts and steps approach. An excited chorus of voices swells outside. The goddamn press, eager to catch a photo of him making a complete ass of himself on his first royal engagement.
“You know when you'll look even better?”
Eddie flinches back to attention. “Huh?”
The door swings open. A storm of flashing cameras breaks loose.
Steve smiles, bright and professional. His voice is so low Eddie needs to strain to catch it.
“When we get back to the hotel and I take it off you.”
