Summary
“Why go so far? Most people wouldn't bother.” She looked at Nara with the same gaze that Laras had when they first met, assessing her, “what makes you care so much for my daughter?”
“Laras is—” she mulled over her words for a few seconds. “Laras is the sun.”

Summary
In hindsight, maybe they shouldn't have let Nara and Laras go to check the house they’d be living in after marriage alone. Maybe they should've been chaperoned like the 19th century ladies. But then again, it’s not like they regret it.
Or Laras and Nara couldn't wait until their wedding night.

Summary
For as long as she could remember, Laras had never really wanted anything. At least not strongly. Not enough to warrant dissatisfaction. It was only human to want things. Perhaps the correct word to use is desire. Laras had never desired anything. She always thought it was because she had an easy life where everything she ever needed was handed to her on a silver plate and she never really felt the need to ask for things, but her brothers, who were raised under the same roof as her, eat the same food, and come from the same womb, do desire things.
She remembered Juna throwing a tantrum because their dad wouldn't buy him a video game. She remembered Mas Dewa slamming the door in anger because their mom wouldn't let him hang out with his friends. Laras had never reacted that way to not getting what she wanted.
And Laras was certain that it was not because she already has the best of everything, many people have more than her, but simply because acquisition or possession is not important to her. She was content. She accepted what she has or doesn't.
It wasn't a problem, per se.

So, for once in my life let me let what I want (Lord knows it would be the first time) by YourLethargicWriter

Summary
Growing up, Nara learned that life was a series of sharp, pungent flavors that simply required a larger spoonful of rice to swallow. Peppers were strong, but you could get through them; broccoli was bitter, but it went down if you mixed it with enough meat. Even the most foul medicine wasn't so bad if you drowned it in honey. She became an expert at the positive spin, the master of finding a different angle to make the distasteful parts of her existence pleasant.
In the Dirgata household, the "distasteful thing" was often the shadow of her twin brother, Rendra. He was the "Superboy," the golden child who moved through life with an ease that made Nara feel like the "Invisible Girl". She watched her parents pour their pride and attention into him, and she learned to force herself to be content with the leftovers. Her parents might favor Rendra more, she told herself, but at least they still loved her—even if the amounts were never equal. She spent her life diluting the bitterness of being second-best, convincing herself that having a fraction of what she wanted was the same as being satisfied.
But then she met Larasati Suryaharitala, and for the first time, the "positive spin" failed her.
