Summary
The rainy season in Suwa is harsh. Fai’s used to the cruel whims of weather, but snow and rain are different beasts. They’ve patched up dams, helped rebuild roofs, fixed a mudslide. Summer during these weeks is usually scorching hot and humid, and by the second week Fai always starts counting the days till the forecast final day.
It’s rare for Fai to wake first, but one glimpse at Kurogane’s relaxed face is enough to make him want to stay under their shared futon for as long as he can, snuggling up to Kurogane till they both get overheated.
(Fai’s been working on cooling charms for clothing that actually work in Suwa’s summer heat with not much success.)

She’s not alone.
She yelps and the unfamiliar surroundings register through the haziness of sleep.
In the bed right next to her, Karen is sleeping peacefully, hair fluffed up, long eyelashes fluttering slightly. Her face is so close Honoka feels blood rushing into her cheeks. How is Karen so pretty…
