Bucky was sitting cross legged on the floor, arms folded over his chest, and scowling. It was an expression that would make many quiver. To Steve, it was mostly just adorable. Well, it was adorable when they hadn’t been going around this one point for at least twenty minutes.
“No,” he said again, twisting away from Steve, chin in the air.

“What’s that?”
It wasn’t an unusual question in their house. Much as when they’d been kids, Bucky was ever curious. While his adult headspace was happy to go off and investigate things himself, his little mindset much preferred to look to his Daddy for answers. And Steve always answered to the best of his ability, even if he sometimes had to admit he didn’t know. But he always made sure to help Bucky research whatever it was, so they could learn about it together.
Luckily, he knew the answer to this question.
“It’s a timeout rug,” he said, hiding a grin when Bucky’s face scrunched up in distaste.

Bucky was stood in the doorway when Steve looked up from his book, a hopeful expression on his face. Steve had no clue what had given him the idea he’d just be given candles, let along be allowed to play with fire, but he’d need to nip this in bud pretty quickly.
“What do you want candles for, sweetheart?” he asked, hoping this was something he could make a substitute for.
