Summary
Lost in his role as a mere spectator, Gekko is startled when Breach suddenly turns to return his gaze. Not like he was doing anything forbidden, not like he was caught in any act, he still lets his surprise be clear on his face before he overrides it with a friendly smile.
It was a group activity; he wasn't expecting to see Breach there, in particular, but he also wasn't complaining. His track record of interacting with Breach around others wasn't the cleanest or most reputable, but he wouldn't let that bother him or hold him back. It was just going to be a lighthearted, friendly get-together.
He could behave himself.
or
Gekko has a little crush on Breach and tries to be smart about it. Getting high with him surely won't have any unplanned consequences. Surely.

Summary
It was a little ironic; it was the first time that they slept together and they didn’t even sleep together to end up in Breach's bed on this random Monday night.
Somehow deciding to take this step without actually sleeping together beforehand made it less like a romantic, relationship-like gesture. It's more like a sleepover.
And friends do sleepovers, right? Friends who have fucked each other on multiple occasions also do sleepovers, right?
It didn’t have to mean anything.
or
Local insufferable fwb duo sleeps together for the first time with unsurprising consequences; it ends up meaning more than Gekko had thought. And then they do it again. With even more consequences.

Summary
It starts to get difficult for Gekko to keep that healthy distance that he has gotten used to, especially in a position that isn't that familiar. The gap between them feels like it's begging to be closed.
He towers above Breach and the control is in his restless hands, and something he knows he's not supposed to do keeps calling his name the longer he spends looking down at a head tilted over the backrest and a pleased expression looking back at him. Though he didn't mind being admired in this way, both silently and verbally, it was that control that drove him insane.
Because he could so easily just do it. He could so very easily hold the sides of Breach's face and lean down and kiss him. It's almost laughable how that opportunity basically flaunts itself right in front of him, mocks him for not being able to take it.
or
They finally kiss. It's really not as bad as Breach had feared. Just like most things that come with his unplanned relationship with a certain green-haired co-worker.

Summary
With Gekko's consciousness nestling somewhere deep inside the confines of his mind, he doesn't even hear how the queue he had set up all that time ago comes to an end and the last song fades out.
What he does hear, however, is the new song that starts to play next. And he'd recognise those piano notes anywhere.
or
The unfortunate reality of how a bad song to have sex to can force a repressed existential fear to resurface.
