Summary
There's something about the way crisp snowflakes flutter smoothly down from the sky and the way she yearns for a home she is no longer able to return to that leads Kid to suspect something in the universe has changed.
In which Hat Kid, now grown, returns to the planet her adventures began on and teams up with an old friend-turned-enemy to take down someone who serves as a bigger threat to the universe than anything she's ever known... and realizes that if she's not careful, this adventure might be her last.

Summary
Kid purses her lips as she looks back out towards the expansive waters, an endless blue sea stretching out as far as her eyes can make out as it reflects glimmering lights from the slow-setting sun. The weight of the velvet box in her coat pockets is impossible to ignore, and so without much thinking, she allows that box to make her final decision.
Pendulums swing back and forth, steady and consistent as they regulate the world around them. The last thing Kid wants to do is throw that off center.
