|"YOUR HIGHNESS!!" He yelled, stretching his hand out. His heart was pounding, and he gazed around, panic filling him as he couldn't find Xie Lian. He was trembling, small whimpers and sobs escaping his mouth, and he looked around with terror.
He felt a hand touch his shoulder, and he jumped away automatically, yelping in fear.
"Don't touch me! You-" He snarled out, shaking as he whipped his head around, tears in his eye, and he suddenly stopped, dread filling him.
"Y-Your Highness, I..." He stammered out, his voice cracking. "I-I-I-I I'm so sorry-"
"San Lang..." Xie Lian whispered, his voice small and scared. "What's wrong?"|
Hua Cheng has a nightmare about the 100-Swords scene. Xie Lian helps him through it.

Summary
|Xie Lian opened his eyes blearily, and what greeted him wasn't crimson curtains and comforting warmth, but pain and anguish, his own ragged breathing echoing hotly, stuffy in his ears. A bone-deep ache filled him, a pain of a thousand splinters buried deep in his heart, and he felt horror and nausea and heartbreak overtake him.
Of course, he thought, tears coming to his eyes. Of course none of it was real. I've been in the coffin all along. My own brain, playing a stupid trick on me, trying to convince me that I'm more than just a hateful, broken, forgotten god.
"What's the point?!" He cried out in a broken voice. "No one'll hear me anyways! Why can't I die?! WHY CAN'T I DIE?!"|
Xie Lian has a nightmare that he's still in the coffin, but Hua Cheng will always be there to protect him from the dark.
