Summary
Ilya never saw herself as a leader, but when Varric recruited her, she did not hesitate to step up to the role, if only for the desire to save lives of the innocence. She was ready for her next adventure after gallivanting with the lords of fortune for the past few years, and this grand one mattered more than she realized at the time. She wasn`t sure if she was cut out for the role - a tad too quiet, too shy. But she was going to do her best. She had, however, not expected to fall in love with one of her companions. Emmrich was everything she was not - confident, well-educated and well-mannered, and incredibly kind. He was an easy man to fall in love with, and as luck would have it, he found her rather enchanting too.
These are the moments in between their grand adventures, the little slivers that turn meaningful as they fall in love while the world rages on around them.

Summary
Rook has had a tough week with troubling decisions, and while the battles were a welcome distraction, they lead to a troublesome injury. She has no time for such inconveniences, as she is terrified of failing as a leader and wishes to be strong for her companions. Emmrich sees her discomfort, and offers to help treat the wound. He has admired her for weeks, but she is shy and they do not get many moments alone, so this is perhaps as good a time as any to share what he feels about her, perhaps even for a first kiss.
No spoilers for the game. Just random fluff written at 4 am, really.
