Summary
It is completely possible that he’s overreacting about this partnership thing. Soap may be new to this, only two years in, but he’s competent as hell. Makes sense why he was a sergeant. Sometimes, though, it feels like Soap is Ghost’s personal punishment for something. The man finds a way to get under Ghost’s skin unlike any other, completely blasting through the walls Ghost puts up that not even Gaz, who’s worked with Ghost for a couple years, tries to break down. It’s been like this since their very first meeting, when Ghost dared to call Soap out for his stupid name and got called out for his own right after.
Still. Ghost doesn’t need to be happy about this, doesn’t need to be friends with Soap. They’re teammates, coworkers, nothing more. Once this is done, Ghost can go back to being on his own. That’s what he wants.
