"i'm younger than you, but i'm not that young," porsche says, and kinn just laughs at him.
"that's exactly what a young person would say." kinn looks at him, not the way he had earlier, like he was cataloguing all of the places he wanted to touch, but actually looks at him; their eyes meet, and porsche sticks his tongue out, just to see kinn laugh again; smile wide, with all of his teeth, eyes glittering.
"you say that like you're old," porsche says, when the laughter tapers off, and kinn is taking another sip of his drink; the air feels lighter, now, and he doesn't know where the space between them went; he doesn't know when their legs started touching, when kinn's hand wrapped around his ankle, feet close enough to be in his lap, but not quite.
“i’m surely almost three times your age,” he says with a raised brow; he's not wrong, according to the card and the candles he'd seen on the kitchen counter; happy fifty-ninth birthday.

"i want to," and he does, because if there's anything he knows about porsche, it's that he's really good at sex, and that's not something kinn says lightly. this is the best no-strings attached sex arrangement he's ever had, mainly because it's the only one he's ever had.
he'd caught the last helicopter out of the dating app hellscape and didn't look back, and then it wasn't such a lucky break when they were drawing lines down their home to see who got what with a packet of sticky notes and an irresponsible amount of tequila.

"if anything happens, i want you to have my personal number. if things get too bad, we might need—" he sighs, and folds his hands on his desk, "we might need to put you in a coma, or do ice-baths, or just, anything to keep your body from overheating and your brain from taking damage because of the fever. i know it's scary," he probably says that because porsche can feel himself go faint from the blood leaving his face, and his eyes going wide, "but that is the worst case scenario."

"what do you mean?" kinn asks, shamefully, still staring at the serpent that wraps around his thigh; it's being bitten in half by a fox spirit, and it's hard to look away; there are flowers and script he can't read tangled around it; it's beautiful, but it terrifies him; he doesn't know why.
"i did porn. nothing you would have been paying attention to, i'm an, ah, acquired taste, but. that's how he met me, and he thinks he saved me, and he got really mad about the threesome and the orgy and the stuff he knows about, i mean i get it. the stuff he doesn't know about?"
porsche raises an eyebrow, nudging kinn with his knee.
