Summary
Tony meets Steve and thinks he knows the type: special only because he has his father's last name, spoiled because how could he not be when he was fed the world on a silver spoon, sweet only because he's never had to be tough, putting on a big suit of armour and masquerading around as the people's hero, as the media sometimes calls him, like a kid playing house.
People love him and not in the way they loved Captain America, the sewed-on stars and stripes and the script taped to the back of his shield and the posters he posed for, the serum and the USO shows. Everything was fake and glitz until he decided he wanted something real, and look where that got him—all this way to the future, glaring at Joseph's son, who's telling him to stop being sarcastic and take something seriously for a change. Tony could choke on the irony.

Summary
Joseph would sometimes tell him stories about Captain America. Steve's favourites were the ones where he didn't do what he was told because it wasn't the right thing to do, and Joseph would smile a little and say, “Tony was a complicated man.”
For the longest time, that was the one thing Steve couldn't wrap his mind around, and then he meets him.
