Summary
Gale was caught trying to steal from Gortash's library, but when two egos find themselves face to face, the battle of pride turns to far more salacious ambitions...
---
Gale looked up at the man above him. Gold and black finery a poor match for hair that seemed permanently and purposefully unkempt. His chest ached from the press of the cane, and something far lower ached without his permission for desires that were even less wise than his decision to come here in the first place.
And yet, he had no regrets.
Gortash stepped forward, feet either side of his chest, staring down in a way that brought a fresh blush to his cheeks. Fuck. Gale cursed his body for betraying him, a point that Gortash had not failed to notice.

Summary
There's no changing Fate, nor is it possible to look away when it comes to take its dues. Gale doesn't regret the night shared in passion's embrace, but facing the reality of the unavoidable is almost too much to bear.
** This work is a brief covering of the canonical death of Enver Gortash. The work that follows will reference this event, but continue their story behind death's door. **

This was originally written as a drabble in part of a series of shorts, and the whole thing ate at me until I had to make it a series which will be continuing in the next works with post-canon.

Summary
When the end came, Gale found himself turning away from self-destruction, instead choosing to grasp the power he once longed for now it was finally in reach. Becoming a god...there was more to it now, more at stake than simply his own Ambitions. Enver's soul was trapped in Bane's dark fist, but now he could approach as...not an equal, but someone with enough merit to strike a bargain.
Meanwhile, Bane finds himself intrigued by the mortal-turned-god who had foiled his plans and turned the eye of his Chosen. Perhaps it is worth hearing him out, or at least discovering what both his Chosen and a fellow deity found of worth within this avatar of undiluted hubris.
And somewhere stuck in the middle, Enver Gortash finds himself reaching out to a hope that he thought was long since cast into the void of impossibility. Did someone truly care enough to be so foolish as to step into a rival God's domain? Surely it's just another cruel illusion sent to torture his soul. Gale Dekarious wouldn't be so utterly ridiculous as to risk everything he had worked for just for a single mortal who had shared his bed for a single night...would he?
