Updated after The Herta's release, more info in the notes below! No spoilers for 3.0's main quest
As Herta deigned to appear at her Space Station in person for once, she inexplicably locked herself in her lab in the depths of the Space Station.
She was reading a book with her previous research for further study into the nature of emanators like herself. Her questions and thought experiments would be a rather major breakthrough for the average Genius Society member, but for someone like Herta, an emanator of Nous the Erudition THEMself, it was little more than an idle pastime, keeping her mind sharp.
Suddenly, she heard a knock on the door. Who was it? Probably not someone worth her time and interruption, she thought, so she looked back down at her book, not daring to answer those who didn't deserve it.
Then another knock and a voice reached through, slightly muffled by the heavy disabled automatic door. And the owner of the calm monotone voice was someone Herta hadn't expected. "Herta, I know you're in there. Open up, I need you for my research. I brought desserts. I'm sure you'll find what I added there… Well, interesting."Series

Summary
Spoilers for 2.7's Main Mission within, but this is rather unrelated to the previous fic in the series
"I became a pawn in the games of forces that go beyond the Luofu. I bear the marks of that accursed Lord Ravager within me. Perhaps I can rid myself of the guilt I'm feeling by using this opportunity to bring The Xianzhou Alliance closer to our enemies. Only then I'll be able to atone for the trouble I caused and return home with peace in my heart."
Ruan Mei nodded approvingly. She was never very emotional, so she didn't quite understand the sentiment of Survivor's Guilt, but that wasn't her business, and she could sense the determination burning in the other's tone like the flames she'd observed on her new tails. "I see. Your resolve is quite powerful. You have truly earned the right to call yourself Tingyun again. I need not call you Fugue any longer in my eyes."
AKA: On the eve of Tingyun's departure from the Herta Space Station, she spends some time bonding with her savior.
