Summary
At some point Eiji had become the dominant partner in their relationship. The one in the driver’s seat, deciding where they’d go next. The shift started when Ash agreed to come to Japan and concluded when their physical intimacy was complete. Ash’s sexual trauma, his terror of hurting his beloved—these were parts of why it took him so long to consummate the relationship, but there was another reason: his fear of losing control, of caving into his neediness and vulnerability. It turned out that sex between partners who had nothing but love and respect for each other could still involve an exchange of power. Ash had given Eiji everything; he had nothing to hold back anymore.
It was OK, really. Deep down inside, Aslan never wanted to be the boss. He trusted his Japanese soulmate more than he did himself. But it was still a difficult adjustment sometimes.
An Ash/Eiji in Japan melodrama in which Ash learns he's not the boss anymore, inspired by Yaki BF's Banana Fish Forever. Explicit rating is for chapters 4 & 7.

Clarification: Non-explicit rape in Chapter 1, which can be skipped.
They say the only way to learn to live with grief is to let it wash over you. Over and over again, as many times as necessary, until you finally come to appreciate it as the last testament of your love. Of course, that’s easier said than done. Especially when you’re all alone. When the chamber of your heart where your grief rests is the one you won’t let anyone near. It hurt too much the last time you did.
The relationships among the characters in Garden of Light (and posthumously, Ash) leading up to the state of New York's legalization of same-sex marriage in 2011. An Eiji/Michael romance with a dark Eiji/Sing & Akira/Sing subplot. Summary
Eiji sits down for an interview about the photos of Ash in New York Sense. Chaos ensues.
MG: Eiji, I’m sure you’re aware that in addition to “tender” and “intimate,” your photos of Ash Lynx have been described as “homoerotic.”
EO: Sorry, I don’t know that word.
MG: [sigh] “Homoerotic” means evocative of physical intimacy between members of the same sex. For instance, if I were to slip my finger in my mouth and look at you like this, and you were to use your camera to record your gaze of reciprocal longing...
EO: He clearly just wants to know if he should add more salt.
