Vi had just moved to Piltover from Zaun, her work in construction forcing her to relocate frequently. She wasn’t new to strange cities or unfamiliar faces, but Piltover had a way of feeling... different. Cleaner, yes. Shinier.
But also unnervingly quiet at times.

It started with the journalist.
The first encounter had been mundane enough. Vi had stepped out of a coffee shop, humming to music blaring on her headset as she bumped into the woman.
A refined-looking one at that, with sharp features and piercing blue eyes—though there was something behind that gaze that Vi couldn’t place.
“Sorry,” Vi muttered, awkwardly side-stepping.
“Don’t worry about it,” the woman said smoothly, offering a smile that seemed practiced, almost too perfect. “Caitlyn Kiramman, by the way. Journalist for The Piltover Ledger.”
Vi blinked. “Cool. Uh… Nice meeting you, Caitlyn.”
What wasn’t cool was how often she bumped into Caitlyn after that.
