Summary
The snow had started late in the evening and was supposed to continue through the night. What took him was the complete whiteout outside. Just enough visibility to reassure him that outside could possibly still be there. Immediately he knew there was no persuading Jayce to still try to make it into the lab.
It’s so rare that they have this kind of free time anymore. What's the harm in a little treat?
“What is it, hm?” he coos, soothing his free hand back through Jayce’s hair. “Tell me what you want, puppy.” Jayce’s eyes slip shut at the nickname.
“Want you. More, more than this, please.”
He loves him so much, so genuinely, and Viktor loves him the same.
Viktor laughs in his face.

Summary
Accidents and dreams. Not all that much of a difference in the grand scheme, Viktor muses. Certainly linked, if only by irony.
At this point later he can conclude two things. First, for every cruelty, every injustice that can be inflicted there is a kindness that can just as easily be extended. Cruelty to kindness, strangers to friends, pain to analgesia.
His second conclusion is that he absolutely missed his calling as a gymnast.
By a wrinkle in the multiverse, or maybe just a stroke of luck, Jayce and Viktor are able to develop a treatment for his illness. They celebrate the best way they know how, and Viktor considers what it all means for him.
