Summary
John's eyes flash dangerously and his shoulders kick back. Sherlock recognizes his mistake a moment too late. Now, he is faced with the wrath of full-blown Captain Watson. John's fight-or-flight instinct kicks into high gear and his brain is already strategizing for victory, regardless of the consequences. Personal boundaries do not even factor in as John hones in on the one thing that will make Sherlock comply. He strides across the room and lifts the fragile violin from its precarious position atop a stack Sherlock's most-recently composed music. Sherlock's eyes go wide and the fight seeps out of him immediately. His hands come up in surrender and his voice is soft and edged with fear as he addresses John.

Summary
Sherlock is certain that he knows everything about babies. He knows their brain development patterns. He knows when babies typically start teething and crawling and walking and speaking. The information has been invaluable on a surprisingly large number of cases. Most memorably, a kidnapping case that ended with Sherlock deducing that the child had recently started walking and the mother was unaware. The child had walked away from the house and was sleeping nestled among the tall grass and wild flowers that covered the property. He hadn't even need to see the scene. When John moves back into 221B with his infant daughter, Sherlock concludes that he knows absolutely nothing about babies.

Summary
In a voice lowered by sadness, John continues.
“You could have died, Sherlock. And I wasn’t there. I couldn’t do anything about it. Don’t you see how that could be a little not good?”
Sherlock slowly turns back to look at John, noticing the convulsive bobbing of his adam’s apple and the bright, watery glint in his eyes.
“John,” he tries.
“No, Sherlock. Don’t even try to tell me otherwise. I saw the scene. The rusted fire escape, the overturned skip, the crushed killer, and so much blood. Sherlock, so much blood.”
John blinks to clear his eyes and tightens his hands into fists at his side.
“You fell.”
It’s not a question but Sherlock nods anyway.
John lets out a shaky exhale that sounds much closer to a sob.
