Summary
Hansol didn’t like talking about her much. In fact, he rarely spoke about himself, his family, or his settlement at all. He had only mentioned that in his culture, children were given two names: one for everyone and another only for their family.
Seungkwan remembered what he had thought back then. Their Chief had once told them about a similar practice, explaining that people did this to protect themselves from the spirits of the taiga, who could not harm someone if they didn’t know their true name. The children hadn’t understood why anyone would need protection from the benevolent spirits they had been taught to thank for good harvests and good health. That was when the Chief had explained that it was usually bad people who did such things—people who knew their actions would anger the taiga. Seungkwan had been surprised because Hansol wasn’t bad. He was incredible. And he had trusted Seungkwan with something so deeply personal—his real name, the one meant to be kept secret from everyone.
And that was the only thing that the lovestruck fool could think about in that moment.
Foolish, foolish Seungkwan. He should have paid much more attention to it back then.

Summary
He thinks Sofia must have been wrong in her fortune-telling when she drew the Fortune card first out of three. He wasn’t a complete failure, but he had never considered himself particularly lucky either. Maybe it had something to do with his answer to her question about his greatest wish—after a quick glance at Hansol, Seungkwan had simply replied, “Success.”
