Summary
Tom is seeking a new life with his family. Luka and Juleka are joining their mother, who went ahead to set up home. They all set sail aboard a merchant ship with room for a handful of passengers, only to find that old superstitions die hard at sea. When the ship is beset by stormy seas, paranoia sweeps the crew, and every woman's life is all but forfeit.
