Summary
Harry stood robotically, Louis’ sudden appearance sending his omega on autopilot, not wanting to accidentally step out of line in front of all the other powerful alphas. Louis placed a guiding hand against the small of his back, walking tall towards his seat at the table which was once again inhabited by the alphas in charge. Harry tensed his posture when he noticed nine sets of eyes assessing him as they approached.
“Gentleman, Harry will be my guest for the rest of the evening.” Louis paused as his eyes flashed to each member of the table. “I expect you all to welcome him in.”
Harry caught most of the alphas bowing their heads in greeting, while others’ glares sharpened ever so slightly. The heady scent mingling around the table had Harry’s blood heating within his veins, and his heart quickened from the attention.
Louis sat down first, resuming his relaxed, sprawled out posture on the ornate seat. His eyes locked on Harry as one of his hands smoothed down his thigh and patted the area softly.
“Have a seat,” he murmured lowly.

Summary
Harry turned his head, and his body shuddered as Louis’ eyes locked on his, the alpha's gaze darkening. His stomach filled with butterflies, and the feeling elicited memories of their first meeting, where Louis’ eyes alone could ignite a fire within him and leave him burning with desire for more. But today, even after all their time together, Harry was still awestruck by the power Louis so effortlessly radiated. Inimitable confidence flowed from his form as he straightened from the chair, Harry’s eyes devouring the contrast of the alpha’s golden skin with the scrolling black ink and simple white trousers. Harry bit his lip, overflowing with the familiar red-hot desire, and Louis winked, catching his appraisal. That was his mate.
Harry was going to slick up in front of the High Elder.
He should be ashamed.
He wasn’t.
