  But Takumi is a human. An awful, terrible, vile human being. A human determined to subject himself to that kind of pain, to the point where he'd seek out even worse methods when he was getting used to it - just to try and get rid of him. With no guarantee that it would work, but just as a final desperate last gambit. The very thought makes his skin crawl.

  There was nothing normal about this boy. And yet, Eito finds himself missing that bright determination burning deep inside of his nemesis. Because, and he'd admit it readily at this point, this wasn't how he wanted to see him.

  Sometimes, he tries to hug Takumi. He mimics the feeling of his arms wrapping around him, squeezing him - as if Eito could force the scattered pieces of him back together if he just held him tightly enough. 

  After the endurance match, Takumi is sent back to the last decision he'd made. His memories remain intact. Eito takes it upon himself to deal with the consequences.

  Sometimes, he wakes up crying.

  It's a silent sort of affair - he just lies there for the most part, too tired to make any sounds. The Eito he knows would mock him for it. He'd have said all kinds of scalding words about what an ugly, repulsive human being he was. This one doesn't.

  Instead, Takumi tenses up as he feels Eito's fingers card through his hair. His touch is cautious. The way you'd pet a stray cat that doesn't quite trust you yet.

  Takumi reaches the end of the endurance match, and gets sent back in time to his last decision.
