Summary
The air was thick with the scent of salt and decay, a briny tang that clung to Verso’s skin. His pulse thrummed, a wild cadence fueled by the thrill of being hunted, the electric uncertainty of not knowing if the next shadow was a nevron or Monoco in disguise.
This was their game.
A ritual of cat and mouse they played often in these haunted depths, where every ripple could be a trap, every glint a taunt. Verso lived for it, the way it set his nerves ablaze, his body humming with anticipation, every sense sharpened to a blade’s edge.
