Watching Gael speak to another fledgling, he flexed his hand until the leather strained with a squeak. In his mind, it was Gael under that same pressure - his throat taut, pulse fluttering beneath Viago’s grip. On the outside, his posture was impeccable - not a strand of hair out of place, his clothing immaculate. On the inside, he unraveled every time his protegé was near, eyes tracking him like a predator.
