"Eddie, however, is far from absent. Buck’s spending every minute awake and asleep trying to escape his presence: it’s overwhelming, steeped into every stroke of paint and every notch on the furniture. Eddie’s in the uneven touch-up on the bedroom ceiling and the slow groan of the fridge door, the faded scuffs along the thin line of the threshold. Buck can’t close his eyes to it: Eddie’s all around him, nine hundred miles away."
Eddie leaves for Texas, and Buck learns to live with his loneliness. Somewhere along the way, he ends up watching Glee, realising he's in love, and finding what's been right in front of him.
(Or, the one where Buck watches Kurt and Blaine get together on screen, notices some interesting parallels, and tries very hard to not be in love with his best friend.)
