Summary
Mary is particular about her drinks; she is also a sipper, somehow to Riri’s astonishment, making one drink last through morning council meetings and her morning classes.
Much to Kira’s disgust, Mary always has a Starbucks drink with her during council meetings, and worse, she parades around school with the cheap-looking creamy bullshit Mary pretended was coffee. Kira preferred her coffee strong, double shot, extra hot, small flat white from the excellently trained barista she hired. Kira couldn’t stand Mary flaunting her drinks every day; her council members were better than that.
Mary on the other hand, wasn’t afraid of Kira’s consequences anymore. What was she going to do? Gamble her down to house pet status? Been there, done that. Send Riri after her, well, Mary supposed that would be kind of fun…
Riri was… Stuck. Between her girlfriend and her sister, as the war started. Eventually, she decided a present to her girlfriend would solve the problem.

Summary
Mary seems oddly intent on pissing Kira off this morning. But when the fallout hits, sinking Mary on the leaderboard once again, Mary's glee somehow brightens. She's seemingly happier in 48th place. I couldn't decipher the sinking feeling in my gut, nor could I figure out why Mary was happier after a loss. This had to be a plan, right? Surely it was some plan concocted between Mary and my sister. It must be.
But one glance at my sister's shoulders proved me wrong. The brief look of shock before her muscles tensed and a calm mask slipped over her expression told me it wasn't one of her plans.
--Set during Coffee Wars, Riri learns just how jealous Mary can be. How violent and cunning she can be when she's jealous. A jealous Mary is much worse than an undercaffeinated Mary, at least in the eyes of her victims. She's just a little bit nicer to her friends, but equally eager to rip apart anyone for any reason.
