There’s an honest-to-God analog clock mounted on a nearby wall, and Mira eyes it curiously. “At 6 in the morning?”
The question earns her an amused little side-eye. “At 6 most mornings.” Rumi reclaims the knife and returns to her task, which seems to consist of slicing raw meat into thin strips. “Not that you or Zoey would know since you’re usually both dead to the world until at least 9.”
