Did his dreams masquerade as nightmares?
Tilting your head slowly, you marvelled at the delicate architecture of the manor you wandered through—the floorboards creaking beneath your weight, short winces marring your countenance as you pressed onward—poking suspicious-looking areas with the tip of your knee-high platform boots, your arm roped around another's, manicured nails leaving crescent-shaped indents in their flesh.
Did they wear skin-tight bunny suits?
The closer you waded to the forked pathway, to the end of the corridor with the simple, splintered wardrobe, the more his brain sparked, anxiety propelling the twitches in his restrained arms—chains rattling behind mahogany, his wrists numb from the position—his mind planting seedlings, quickly blossoming under the careful care he gave them.
Would his dreams leave behind the shadow of a nightmare?
Letting purple-tinged streaks softly push the doors in front of him open, he keeps his head hung, until you reach the middle of the room—his gaze snapping up, the mask he was wearing, taunting—your breath hitching as his head tilts, jaw sliding his field of vision to you.
