Changbin knew he wasn’t all that, it was something he’d grown to learn as time passed and he got older. People like Hyunjin didn’t go for guys like Changbin; short and loud with nothing to offer. They went for guys like Chan, who was kind and charming and always knew the right thing to say, who was never too out there and who looked proportionate to his size. Or they went for someone like Minho; mysterious and alluring with a true dancer's body. People wanted someone who could hold them, who could protect them, who could make them feel safe and taken care of. Changbin had accepted the fact that he wasn’t that person for anyone – least of all for Hyunjin – and that was okay. He had his friends and that was enough. It had to be, anyway.
Or: Changbin’s insecurities have stopped him from pursuing something with Hyunjin, who he happens to be madly in love with. If he’d just asked, he might have known that Hyunjin was just as in love with him right back.

After coming to this realization, Changbin did what any mature, adult man confronting his own feelings would do: he didn’t.
