Max snorted. “You know that I don’t actually have to deal with this - this stupidity?” As if he was going to be told what to do by George Russell. Once again, he turned to leave - and, once again, George reached out and grabbed his wrist. This time, his grip was so tight that it felt vaguely bruising; Max couldn’t help but wince.
“You do,” George said.
“What?” Max replied. Even to him, his voice sounded embarrassingly shaky.
George narrowed his eyes. “You do have to do what I say. You didn’t win. This is what happens when you don’t win.”
