Summary
‘You must face it.’
There was nothing here to face. Nothing except this thick fog that blanketed him and rolled with every single step he took. He noticed a mirror and he took steps towards it. A hand reached out, gripping him. He tried to run. Tried to get away. But then he was falling, hurtling towards the ground and certain death. He let out a scream before his body slammed into the ground, but didn’t shatter. No. No shattering would be too quick.
He looked at the new landscape- more mirrors. More reflections of himself surrounded him. And then the scenes started to play out. His heart clenched. This. He had to face this. He had to face himself.

Summary
'I can make it all better.’
The voice. He would never forget THAT voice and the lies it had told him throughout his life. Azriel spun around- searching for his father. His first teacher and tormenter. He was greeted with the stone walls of his cell and as he looked at his hands, as he felt his body, he knew he was an adult. This was not how this nightmare normally went. Something was wrong. Someone was meddling with his dreams.

Summary
She curled against Azriel’s chest. Their bodies twined together, his arms held her tight. Another night where they crept away, another night where they defied Rhysand’s orders. Another night where Azriel reminded her that this risk was worth it. She hated the idea that one day he might pay for this- for them- but he never allowed her to think of that for long.
A cold slammed into the townhouse and she tensed, her powers quietly investigating. Foreign. Not the winds that preceded a winter storm in Velaris. Malevolent. A force pressed against the very walls and she eased Azriel’s arm from around her waist, it had not detected her. She might have the upper hand on driving it away if she stayed under its radar.
“No. Dad, no. Stop. I’ll be good- please let me try to be good.”
