Summary
The worst part about being roommates with Eridan Ampora isn’t the incessant arrogance, the perpetual mess, or even the shitty music he likes to blast into the wee hours of the morning. No, the worst part about being roommates with Eridan Ampora is his near-inexorable ability to rope you into every single one of his bad decisions while somehow also ensuring there’s not a damn thing you can do to stop him.
Karkat Vantas gets a glimpse he never wanted into the Ampora brothers’ dysfunctional relationship, and the longer he looks, the more unsettled he finds himself with what it reflects back at him.

Summary
Going under the needle is easy: the whirr of the tattoo gun, the hours of patient sitting, even the ache settling deep in your shoulder blade all exactly what you expected and hoped for. What’s harder is the afterward, the waiting for your brother to confer his blessing, to drag his fingers over the fresh ink throbbing under your shirt and whisper his approval in your ear.
Eridan Ampora finally gets himself inked with the other half of his brother’s unfinished tattoo, thinking he knows exactly what he’s signing up for. He doesn’t, and when the reality of what it actually means to have Cronus living under his skin crystallises, it lands like revelation.
