Ron's not sure why he cares about this kid so much. Maybe it was the way he bought snacks from the trolley on the Express and eagerly shared them with Ron, despite the fact he didn't have to. Maybe it was the way the boy was skinny -- much, much too skinny for a boy at eleven (and Ron would know). Whatever it was, Ron found himself compelled to stand by Harry, come hell or high water.
That included following Harry to whatever house he got sorted into.

'Knowing he did the right thing' and 'worrying about his family's reaction' were not mutually exclusive feelings, however.
