The vampire in front only shrugs. “What if you can? What would you do?”
“I don’t want to play god. I’d like to, maybe, I don’t know,” he chews on his bottom lip. “But it’s so… lonely. Immortality.”
Antinous leans in. “What if it isn’t lonely?”
Telemachus rolls his shoulder. “Then it’s all encompassing,” he sighs.
An indomitable gaze; that wouldn't yield, not in gallows, not in the stake. “Yes,” agrees Antinous. “That is the point.”
Telemachus has met God. In the night, God made blood into wine. Telemachus has met God, in his own walls, the taste of heaven in his tongue. Telemachus knows God as teeth sinking into his neck. This is his and none will take it from him.
