  Summary

At her command, eyes the color of the tea roses in the vast royal garden slowly rise to meet hers. Ena can see the determined glint they carry, a wish to prove those around her wrong. She can respect that. In fact, now that she sees it, she knows it’s exactly the spark she’s been looking for.

She supposes she’s always been awfully fond of underdogs, fonder still of beautiful maidens with fire in their eyes.

In which Ena chooses a knight to protect her... or is it the other way around?
