Summary
Tommy's trying to decide between two very different cravings: double chocolate chip brownie ice cream and salty french fries. He's just decided to do both when his phone goes off.
He closes the fridge, grins affectionately when he hears Evan's faint 'fuck' coming from the second bedroom as he grabs his phone.
That grin falls when he sees who the notification is from.
Missed Call: Kinard, M.
He knows who that is. Mary Kinard. His mother. He must not have heard it go off for the phone call, and he's almost glad of that because he's not totally sure what he would have done if he had. Answered it? Sent it to voicemail?
His thoughts are broken when Evan hollers, "Voila!"
Or: Buck and Tommy have a baby boy and Tommy finds out some bad news about his father.

Summary
Buck isn't quite sure what he expected when he fell in love with Tommy Kinard 8 years ago, married him, then had a child with him, but the fact that he's currently watching his husband and son dance a little in the snow makes him think he must have done several things right somehow.
"'S crunchy!" Nicky says excitedly. Tommy's got a tight hold on his little hand as they walk to their destination, but the little boy is managing to skip as they walk anyway, their little bundle of energy. Sometimes Buck wishes he had the energy their three-year-old has in abundance.
Or: Buck and Tommy take three-year-old Nicky to Bobby's grave in Minnesota just before Christmas.
