Toushiro knew it was for his own good, that his body and Reiatsu needed to properly recover, but it still didn’t stop that nagging feeling deep inside his gut. The feeling that kept telling him that something was wrong, that he was wrong.
His body wasn’t right. His body didn’t even feel like it even belonged to him some of the days, despite the fact he had never used his adult form before that moment. But he could still recall how right it felt when he could achieve that form for the very first time.

Summary
So, no, Isshin wasn’t that surprised when Ichigo told him that he had two partners. Because, once again, his son was a man with a heart that was far too big for this world. His son wasn’t meant to love only one person — he actually deserved to get all of that love back, and it seemed like it wasn’t a task only for one person.
However, what was, in fact, a surprise was who Ichigo’s partners were.

Summary
Despite that, they were able to get their somewhat human forms — ignoring the fucking huge hole somewhere on their body, of course, because there just had to be a reminder. Point being, they became warriors, instead of beasts. That was at least what Nelliel liked to say. They possessed reason once becoming Arrancars.
But what no one seemed to warn them about was this… urge. When Aizen decided to create them into his pseudo-army, he’d forgotten to mention that some of the primal urges weren’t just going to disappear despite how much they were all trying to pretend.
