Summary
After his discharge from Ionia, General Jericho Swain has usurped control over Noxus and established new leadership through the Proclamation of the Trifarix. Suspecting exorbitant amounts of foul play, Emilia LeBlanc vows to uncover the truth behind Swain’s seizure of the Empire by any means necessary.
When she discovers the all-too-infamous Demon of Agony prowling around her hideout, LeBlanc aggressively persuades the being to serve the Black Rose or die resisting. For Evelynn, however, subservience is more of an impossibility than a prerequisite.

Unable to find entertainment on her own, Runeterra’s Demon of Agony is overcome by a feeling of loneliness. Under the vast Targonian skyline, Evelynn recalls the existence of a gift she received from a certain sorceress back in Noxus. Plucking a petal off the black rose, Emilia LeBlanc is summoned to entertain the demon in whatever way she pleases. What Evelynn forgets, however, is that the manipulative Deceiver is always ready to rope the demon into more of her schemes.

Summary
Curious about the Black Rose's most recent undertakings, Evelynn returns to Noxus with an overwhelming desire to reunite with the cabal's elusive Matron. Busy scheming as always, however, Emilia LeBlanc rejects the demon's proposal to rendezvous, insisting that the creature would only be a hindrance to the progression of her ultimate plan. Insulted, the Demon of Agony plans a secret infiltration of the Black Rose in hopes that it will force her lost sorcerer out from the shadows. The truths behind LeBlanc's plans are discovered through the demon's sheer audacity, and they make Evelynn reconsider her relationship with the Deceiver.
