At fourteen, nearly fifteen, he is no wide-eyed hero—he is guarded, dangerous, and deeply suspicious of gods who arrive far too late to save anyone.
Accused of stealing Zeus’s Lightning Bolt and hunted by monsters, Percy is forced into a world that seems determined to use him as a weapon. At camp, he forms reluctant bonds—starting with Grover’s quiet loyalty and growing into something far more complicated when Percy draws the attention of Luke Castellan, an older camper who recognizes Percy’s anger, restraint, and loneliness all too well. What begins as mentorship and protection slowly turns into something warmer, sharper, and far more dangerous.
As grief, attraction, and resentment intertwine, Percy must decide who he trusts: the gods who claim him, or the people who choose him.
