She paused, pressing her lips into a firm line as she glanced at the empty seat at the other end of the circular table. She found herself staring longer than necessary, her fingers closing and tightening slightly around the edge of the table.
She looked away with a faint scoff. "...How ridiculous." At that moment, Nagisa wasn't craving the presence of Mika's giggling and recklessness, but someone more gentle, someone whose presence radiated warmth and never demanded anything.
Nagisa froze as her mind began to form a clearer image of the persona she was thinking of. "...Hifumi...?" Hifumi had never been involved in any political affairs. She was entirely uninvolved with the Tea Party as a whole. She never inserted herself where she wasn't needed... but Nagisa often found that, strangely, whenever Hifumi was around, the silence was far easier to bear.

Summary
Mika was smiling. That, on its own, was nothing out of the ordinary, but usually, the smile was a reckless, bubbly grin. The one she had on her face at the moment was a patient, gentle beam, as if she was waiting for Nagisa to say something. "...You're staring," Nagisa observed calmly as her fingers curled around the handle of her porcelain cup.
"You just... look like you're daydreaming, and totally not focusing on those Tea Party documents," Mika remarked, tilting her head so that one of her cheeks was pressed against the heel of her hand. Her posture melted into a much more casual, hunched position. Her eyes looked dreamy, almost as if she were staring into another dimension. "I couldn't help but wonder what you were thinking about."
"I was simply reading the document over again," Nagisa said patiently, lifting her cup effortlessly and taking a measured sip of her tea. She drew her tongue across her lips subtly, savoring the flavour, as she set the cup down.
"Hmm... Nagi-san. I think you're lying to yourself about something," Mika accused lightly.
