Stepping off of the plane, Ilya was still surprised that he made it here. His father was never fond of North American hockey leagues, but Ilya was determined to play junior hockey in Canada.
He spotted his billet family - Yuna and David Hollander, who he would be living with for the next eight months, along with Shane Hollander, his new teammate.
He knew of the famous active OHL players, and Shane Hollander was certainly one of them, but Ilya wasn’t prepared for freckles and beautiful eyes.
