Summary
Jason Todd thought he had moved past the pain of his past. Willis and Catherine were far behind him, along with the Joker and a year of torture. But when Jason comes home to his husband Roy overdosing on the couch, he realizes that the life he worked for was falling from his fingertips with each passing moment.
"Jason considered himself a pretty happy person. He lived with his charming husband Roy, and their adorable daughter Lian, and Jason went to Wayne Manor every Sunday for dinner. He and Bruce were as close as they could be, and Jason called his siblings every few weeks to catch up. Alfred was getting older, but Jason would still visit to help cook. Jason’s joking reference to Clark as ‘Pops’ had turned less sarcastic with each remark.
So of course something had to screw things up."

Summary
Ever since returning from "the incident" Jason Todd hasn't been the same kid that Bruce met in an alleyway. He gets into fights daily, is stuck in permanent detention, and at this point has mostly given up on ever truly being part of the Wayne family again. But when Jason's English teacher is out of class for months on paternity leave, and a long-term substitute teacher takes his place, Jason finds himself feeling the one thing he hasn't in a long time. Hope.
As Jason navigates through his trauma, Mr. Kent offers a safe space for Jason to explore not only his past, but what his future might hold.
This takes place years before Clinging to What's Lost and will briefly co-occur with my fic Breaking Down Barriers.
