"You can't keep doing it, Eddie." Buck tells him as he pins Eddie in place with his wide-eyed stare. "I can't keep standing by while you run into situations where there's a maniac with a gun!"
"Jesus," Eddie breathes out and sinks back into his chair, but before he can say anything else, it's like the hose has been turned on full, because Buck is up and away.
"Like, I never understood Bobby being scared about me and the sniper, or… well… I did, but my need to protect everyone outweighed everything else, including Bobby's logic and fear." Buck paces the space around the kitchen table and Eddie can see the way his hands tremble.
OR
Once the dust settles after the stand-off in the market, Buck realizes that some scars haven't really healed properly.

"That was weird, right?" Chris asks, jolting Eddie out of his daze. "I mean," he shuffles around at the dinner table and raises an eyebrow. "Her being here, not a girl running out of the house."
"Christopher," Eddie warns with a small scowl.
"Not like I'm wrong," Chris mutters before leaning forward on the table, chin resting in the palm of his hand.
Eddie sighs and nods. "But you're right, uh, about her being here."
