Summary
At Forward Base Seven, the claim system is simple: the strong own the weak.
When fifteen-year-old Tenzou arrives unclaimed and vulnerable, he catches the attention of Commander Gekkou a man whose "preferences" are an open secret. Hatake Kakashi faces an impossible choice: stand by and do nothing, or claim the boy himself.
He chooses the latter.
Now bound by a permanent seal, Tenzou must navigate a reality where his protector is also his owner, where survival means perfect obedience, and where the lines between safety and captivity blur. Kakashi meant to save him. But as the performance becomes increasingly brutal, both begin to wonder: Is protective ownership still ownership?
When they're recalled to Konoha, they discover that leaving the base doesn't mean leaving the system behind. The seal is permanent. The claim is legal. And now they must figure out how to exist in a relationship built on ownership while desperately trying to make it something else.

Summary
When Inspector Tanaka Yuki arrives to conduct a routine welfare check on a newly filed claim, she expects paperwork. What she finds is Hatake Kakashi sleeping on his own couch while a fifteen-year-old former ROOT operative occupies the bedroom. No seal enforcement. No exploitation. Just a jōnin trying to protect someone from a system that has no good options.
But protection and freedom aren't the same thing, and Yuki knows it. Told through inspection notes and a private report filed after midnight, this story asks what it costs to be complicit in something monstrous while trying to be the most humane person in the room.
(A interlude from Until One of Us Dies. Pairs with chapter 15.)

Summary
The seal is still there. The claim is still legal. For the first time in his life, people are learning his name and choosing to use it.
Kakashi is still trying to protect Tenzou. The problem is the system keeps requiring him to demonstrate what he's trying not to beKonoha is not Forward Base Seven. The threats here wear titles instead of faces, council factions, formal complaints, hearings where his future gets argued in careful administrative language by people who have never once looked at him.
Tenzou builds something anyway: a key to an apartment, a standing Wednesday at the ramen stall, a seven-year-old who drew his portrait and calls him tree man.
The system can only hold him if he stays invisible.
He is no longer invisible.
