He got tetchy; waspish. He pushed. He hid away. He snapped over his plants, his food, his gifts. Protective. Unreasonable. He knows his propensity for mood swings. He knows it grew worse. The Lamb noticed; he’d known they did. They were never a fool, really.

It was him who came crawling to the Lamb. His tormentor. His savior. For he knew he was favored, and he knew what the favor of gods could get you, if you asked right. Especially a god so merciful as the Lamb. So soft. So kind.
