In that moment he knew that his sister had to be scared herself, terrified of their mother but she still chose to shield him.
Did she feel scared tonight?
Did that memory also resurface for her as she was shielding her own son from the man who she once shielded herself?
OR

Summary
I think you must’ve thought it'd be easier on me, you dying naturally and not in the middle of some miracle treatment. But honestly I think it made it worse, coming back from work late one day with takeout from your favourite restaurant and not being able to wake you up really and I mean really sucked.
I remember how I sobbed till my throat hurt and the stinging in my eyes numbed, I remember the pitying looks the paramedics gave me when they saw that ‘do not resuscitate’ wristband that I could’ve sworn that you didn’t have on that morning.
